I mean it really sincerely : I can't understand why nobody came up with a Flyspeck-type solution sooner. I don't think I will ever make a regular static site again now. What's the point? This solution will allow me to : a) give the client a value-added service, empowering him, whilst requiring hardly any more work on my part b) get the client off my back once the project is over - he can do his own updates in the following months whilst I concentrate on more lucrative work It's always been a thorny problem : the client calls up and says "how much would you charge to change these snippets of text and these few photos?" For me, it's too small a job to be worthwhile economically, but at the same time I risk losing the client if I say no, or charge too much. So I end up working half a day, at a loss, and putting more important jobs temporarily on the back-burner. Not any more!! Now, with Flyspeck the ball is in the client's court. I was showing your script to a web company who makes professional scripts and also have a CMS which they built themselves. Well I asked them if the could guess how much your script cost and they said between 1500 and 2000 euro!!! (Their simplest CMS system cost 9.000 euro!). I told them what I paid and they didn't believe me!

I was so excited about finding your product and the timing was amazing. I've got a client to see tomorrow that requires a CMS type site but have no experience with the web. I was setting up my normal CMS which as you know are a handful for the non-techies wondering how I was going to manage this client for the next 6-8 months while they bugged me about the system. I probably sound krazy, But I am excited about having your product. It is so awesome. I average doing at least 4 websites a month, and this is the greatest thing since frozen pizza. Many of my clients want to be able to edit their websites and most everyone knows how to use Microsoft Word. I just setup their website, and give them a few minutes of instruction and BAM, they can instantly start putting in their photos and content all by themselves. Thanks for all your hard work on this great program. I think you are heading the the right direction. One big problem with most free and moderately- priced CMS packages is that they do not make any allowance for different skill levels within a business or organization. Everyone, from beginner to expert, is forced to use the same complex interface. The great virtue of Flyspeck is that it is friendly to beginners. If you can use any word processor, you can use most of Flyspeck. Also, if you can find your page on the web, you can enter the password and edit the page, so you have completely eliminated the "wandering in the folders, searching for my file" problem that beginners can have. The navigational structure that a web site presents to a public visitor is usually much better thought out, and much easier to follow, than the actual tree structure of directories on the server filled with odd or cryptic file names. Flyspeck takes advantage of this easier-to-understand navigation system, eliminating most of the problems around the issue of getting the right file name, which makes it much easier to give people responsibility for updating specific pages. This is making a big difference at the college I work for, as faculty members take charge of their course pages.

This is a thankyou email from a ?more than satisfied? new user. I was half way through writing a custom script based around FCKeditor and did a Google search looking for some shortcut scripts to save me writing everything in full. I found your site after looking at different implementations of FCKeditor and figured at $35 even if I used only parts of your system I?d still be in front. In less than 10 minutes I had Flyspeck set up and ready to go (That was even including sorting out the $docroot variable as it?s on a Windows server). A few ?cut and pastes? on the pages that were already on the server and the whole site is now editable (well at least the bits I?m allowing the site owners to edit anyway). Your script has saved me a couple of days of code editing and testing and is definitely worth the asking price.

This is a VERY graphic site (you would have to meet the customer to understand :) and I really didn't want the site graphics in the editing area anyway because I don't want the customer changing them, I just want to give her access to the text. I must say I spent some time having a read of all the content on your site last night and your product truly is fantastic, ok it’s taken me 3 support emails to you (which you kept to your word and answered immediately) but I now understand how it works and can go and PLAY! I have been looking for a product like FlySpeck for years which is different, better and extremely easy for not only myself to set up but for customers to use so easily. The great thing is it can easily be bolted onto an existing website. I don’t know why anybody hasn’t thought of CMS this way before. I absolutely love Flyspeck. The value added, as perceived by the customer, is worth it's weight in gold, and the PITA factor is minimized for me.

If you are an experienced website developer/designer get Flyspeck because it is a great script, your clients will love it and it will save you lots of time changing future content. If you are like me--a beginning designer, minimal working knowledge of CGI and in need of CMS for a church site I am helping set up, then you need to get Flyspeck because of the support. Stop looking at those freeware/open source CMS scripts and get Flyspeck. It's only $35 per site and you will save hours of trouble shooting. I purchased this script 1 week ago and was able to configure and install it, but had problems with my server's Apache file configurations. Flyspeck support responded to my e-mail for help within a couple of hours and uploaded an .htaccess file with the correct commands for me. The site coordinator began adding content to web pages through her browser the next day and everything was working great until I attempted to enable Server Side Includes and I mistakenly replaced/erased the .htaccess commands on the server. Not knowing these commands, I again e-mailed Flyspeck support asking for help. Within 1 hour I was sent the commands and had Flyspeck working again in no time. The amazing thing is that this occurred on Easter Sunday afternoon! Good support for any computer product is very hard to find. Flyspeck support is the fastest and best I have ever seen I am extremely please with my purchase of this script. I will be purchasing again for other sites in the future and I highly recommend that you get this script also. Good job Flyspeck and thanks for everything!! Steve in Wisconsin

This thing is great! I have looked for something like this for a long time!

Although I can’t comment on version 5, I love version 6. I like the “inpage” login feature and I think it will work well for some of my technologically challenged clientele. The bulk of my clients are only editing one page at a time – so I prefer this over a site-wide login.
